We are the Trashers, a Dutch Car Club. We build, modify, kustomize and drive all kinds of old vintage US cars.
So what's the deal ?
Well...since the 1920's speed addicts try to push their vehicles to the limits on salt flats and dry lake beds like El Mirage and Bonneville, USA.
And that's exactly where we want to go too!
But...instead of using a high-dollar, computer-controlled car we like to break a land speed record like they did in the fifties, using a vintage flathead engine for power and the best possible body to put this in; an all aluminum fighter airplane droptank...
Yes you heard it right ! We're planning to go to the salt lakes with our bellytank racer!!!
And that's where you as a reader come in. We sure could do with some funds!
So, if you like speed, vintage cars and share the same enthousiasm in breaking a speed record as we do...
Join in and make a donation to our bank number on the right. Or buy yourself a "Trash-Can" t-shirt or some cool stickers. We'll keep you informed about the progress of 'your' project!
Thanks for making our dream come true!! Trashers Car Club
Your name or company name will be on this website, the more you can spare the bigger/higher it will appear!
You will receive a unique limited edition custom-designed t-shirt to show everyone what makes you tick and you're invited to see the car you donated for in action on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011 !!!
Plans are to drop in a '30s flathead fourcilinder Ford engine, backed by a '60s M40 4-speed transmission running to a '40s Ford rear axle with a quick change center section, some huge wheels and racing tyres and a home made plexiglass dome to see through...
We still need a lot of parts, for instance; a fire-proof suit, a helmet, gauges, brake-lines, etc, etc. Because when we really want to take this bellytank to Bonneville it has to be perfect, and perfectly safe too ! If we want to break a land speed record, the car has to conform to all kinds of safety rules, only that way the record will be legal...
About the trip:
Of course we also have to ship our car and ourselves to the Bonneville Salt Flats, we already save up every dime we have but we could use some of your support for this trip too !!
